REVIEW: Talking Panto with Grant Stott, Jordan Young, and Allan Stewart | Cinderella | Capital Theatre's Festival Theatre, Edinburgh

It is this time of year when joy and laughter fill the air, and nothing captures the spirit of the season quite like a pantomime! I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Cinderella at the Capital Theatre's Festival Theatre, and it marked the perfect start to my holiday celebrations.

Arrival and Atmosphere

Walking into the Festival Theatre, I was immediately enveloped by the excitement and buzz of laughter and chatter, with families gathered and ready for a fun evening.

A Cracking Cast - HIYA PALS!!!

Leading the charge was Grant Stott, playing host for the evening. In Cinderella, and as with all pantos, his role is of the villain, Baroness Hibernia Fortuna. His comedic timing and energy promises to be an unforgettable performance, and not to forget, this year will be a special one for Grant as he celebrates his 30th pantomime. WOW!

Then there was the beloved Jordan Young who will be playing Buttons. Young's charisma is hard to resist. His quick wit and warm demeanor guarantee that audiences will have a fantastic time.

There is no Christmas panto without Allan Stewart, and this year he'll be producing pantomime magic as The Fairy May. He is known for connecting with both kids and adults, making each performance feel special for everyone in attendance. Together, these three performers elevated my anticipation for the show.

I'm also looking forward to seeing the return of Clare Gray and the new recruit Gail Watson as the ugly sisters, Vindicta and Manapulata Fortuna.

Cast Interaction

At the event, I had the chance to hear from the actors as they shared hilarious stories about mishaps and antics, their intensive rehearsals, and their joy of panto. Their enthusiasm for the production was infectious.

One of the evening's highlights was the chance to interact with the talented cast. After the performances, Grant, Jordan, Allan, and Gail graciously mingled with the audience and posing for photos. Their warmth and friendliness were evident.

The Cinderella Experience Awaits

As my time at the Festival Theatre ended, I left buzzing with eager anticipation for the panto season. With such a talented cast and dedicated production team, I believe this year's show will be a captivating blend of magic, laughter, and heartwarming moments that will resonate long after the final curtain falls.

If you’re looking for a fantastic way to celebrate the festive season, I highly recommend securing your tickets to see Cinderella at the Capital Theatre's Festival Theatre. It is not just a great night out with loved ones; it encapsulates the joyful essence of Christmas.

So, are you ready to make this festive season one to remember? Don't miss the chance to see Cinderella at the Festival Theatre! Dress up in your favourite festive attire and be prepared to soak in the magic of the Christmas!
